What
is Mo-Town Grapplers?
The Mo-TownGrapplers.com
website actually represents "Mo-Town Grapplers Club,
Inc", a non-profit organization designed to provide the
youth, in the Morristown area, a chance to learn the sport
of wrestling through competition.
Who
can participate in the program?
The
program is geared for kids from 1st to 8th grades from Morristown,
Morris Township and Morris Plains. There will be three teams,
a beginner team and two teams for the older experienced kids.
Where
and when are the practices held?
The wresting season usually runs from early
November through the end of February. During this time, practice
will be held at Frelinghuysen School gymnasium two days a
week for the "Clinic Team" — those kids who
are new to the sport and/or are in the 4th grade or below.
The
older more experienced kids will have practices two week nights
and also on Saturday mornings. Practices on week nights are
usually from 6:30 PM to 8:15 and Saturday 9:00 AM to 11 AM.
Who
will be teaching/coaching the kids?
Our staff are accomplished wrestlers who have had high school
and/or college experience. From time to time, Mo-Town will
invite guest clinicians to provide additional expertise in
a certain area (takedowns, escapes, pinning combinations,
etc.).
How
can I get my child involved in the program?
