Mo-Town Grapplers Place at NJ States - 3/26/03

Note: The New Jersey State Championships took place at Lakewood this past weekend and two Mo-Town Grapplers placed in the top 8. "This season has proven to be much more successful than we ever thought possible.....2 state medals (who woulda thought)!!!!" said proud coach Matt Manahan.

Nick Bolio Nick placed 7th/8th in the 75lb Intermediate division.

Chris Lloyd Chris placed 7th/8th in the 115lb Junior Division.

Danny Tomblin Danny avenged his loss in the North Jersey finals by beating Billy Strathern of Hackettstown in the first round at states, then he was faced against two kids who placed top 8 and held his own

"None of our guys were outclassed in any of their losses" said caoch Matt Manahan. "Mike Ryan also won his first round match by getting a takedown in the final seconds of the 3rd period against a really tough kid from Lenape Valley, then he also faced two kids who placed top 8 and gave a good fight in both of those matches."
