Dan grew up in Morristown and started wrestling for the town wrestling team when he was 7-years old. His team competed in the Tri-County league and in his 7th-grade year had his best finish where he took 2nd place. He continued his wrestling career at Morristown high school where he was team captain his senior year taking third place in the District. His wrestling career ended with high school, but went off to Rutgers University to study Mechanical Engineering. Dan transferred from Rutgers to NJIT where he completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After working for a few years at a small Elevator Company in Allentown, NJ Dan took a job with Schindler Elevator in Morristown in 1998 where he continues to work to this day. In 2001, Dan joined with Matt and Bryan Manahan to create the Motown Grapplers Club and has been involved in coaching and other capacities ever since.
