King of the Mat (KOM) League

The King of the Mat (KOM) League is a developmental wrestling league in North Jersey designed specifically for beginner and novice wrestlers in grades 1–5.

KOM provides a fun, low-pressure introduction to competition. Matches are informal, scores are not kept, and the emphasis is on learning, confidence-building, and preparing young athletes for the next level of wrestling.

A typical KOM season includes approximately 8 jamboree dates, held at multiple locations throughout the season. Each event features around 100 wrestlers, giving kids plenty of mat time in a supportive and encouraging environment.

The season concludes with the KOM End-of-the-Year Tournament, where wrestlers participate in structured matches—an exciting milestone that helps bridge the gap to more traditional competition formats.
